Mean Time to Remediation

Mean Time to Remediation (MTTR) is a key performance indicator (KPI) for the average time to resolve escalated cybersecurity vulnerabilities. This metric shows how effective vulnerability management is in a given month.

BlueVoyant calculates MTTR by escalations closed in a month:

  1. Identify Closed Escalations: For each month, we identify all escalations resolved in that month, without filter for escalation start date.

  2. Calculate Time to Resolve: For each closed escalation, we calculate the time between the first escalation and the action to set the escalation as resolved.

  3. Sum Times to Resolve: We sum the times to resolve for all escalations closed in the month.

  4. Average: We divide the sum of times by the total escalations closed in the month.
