Introduction to SSO in CDP

Configure Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication for your users to log in to BlueVoyant Cyber Defense Platform (CDP).

Caution

These instructions apply to commercial Microsoft Entra ID tenants. For other Identity Providers (IdP) or GCC-H, get instructions from your BlueVoyant project manager or Client Success Manager (CSM).

Required Role and Permissions

When you purchase BlueVoyant products or services, the Point-of-Contact in your organization gets the Platform Admin role in the Cyber Defense Platform (CDP). If your Entra ID policies require administrator permissions to configure applications, the Point-of-Contact must have administrator-level permissions in Entra ID. A Platform Admin in your CDP system must also give permissions to users in CDP.

Important Configuration Requirements

During the onboarding of a BlueVoyant product, you give your user contact information to your PM or CSM, to make sure the correct personnel in your organization get escalation questions and alerts from BlueVoyant.

For SSO, the Entra ID user profile values in the Name fields and Email field must be the same as the values in the file that you sent to BlueVoyant. Make sure these values are the same before you start SSO configuration.

Entra ID Profiles and CDP Users

  • Users of BlueVoyant must have their First Name, Last Name, and Email properties in their Entra ID user profile. If a user tries to access CDP with an account with empty fields, it will end in a 400 error.

  • The email address of each user in Entra ID must match the email address in the contact list you gave during BlueVoyant service onboarding for full CDP operations. If the email address in Entra ID is different, some CDP functions (close a case, for example) will not give expected results.

Authentication Process

BlueVoyant does not support application tiles for SSO authentication through your Identity Provider (IdP). Users must start from BlueVoyant Cyber Defense Platform (CDP). You can make a bookmark application to redirect to the CDP login URL: https://portal.bluevoyant.com/
